The third party apps don’t.. but Apple does.. they have remotely bricked (destroyed) peoples iPhones when they detected 3rd party apps on them..
In the beginning launch of the Iphone, Apple made sure and announced to its customer that third-parties softwarez are not recommended and will void such warranty. I believe it was about a month or two back, Apple officially announced that it will let third-party software to be used on the Iphone. So you shouldn’t have a problem anymore, as long as you download working software and not some experimental softwarez which you think might work. Third-party are now allow to do their thing (what they do best) and that is to make sweet software for the Iphone.
