How do I transfer applications from my laptop to iPhone?

the applications are on your laptop??
if you have an iphone then whenever you download an application from the app store, you just have to sync your iphone……you can try dragging them or maybe they just arent compatible……
Unless your iPhone is jailbroken you cannot put any applications on it except the ones you download from itunes
try this, first go to itunes and on the left panel it shows you devices where it has your i-phone and of course it synchronizes once you have it connected to your computer so then look where it has like some list which begins with summary i believe and click on applications which is the last one “sync applications” is selected then click sync at the buttom.
if it doesnt work check selected applicaions on the same view and check all the applications you want on your i phone and click apply on the buttom right and you should have it.
