iphone, how much room do the applications take up?

Many of the apps are web-based and will launch in the browser, so they don’t take up much room on the phone. I’ve cycled through quite a few, usually deleting them when I find they aren’t much use. Currently I have about a dozen. They are taking up 18.8 MB of space–far less than the 218.5 MB occupied by “Other”, which I assume is the update data.
I thought the movie thing would be cool, but I have yet to watch anything because it’s a 4″ screen. This might be good for TV shows or movies when on an airplane, but I can think of little else I would do with the video feature.
